The new weQubeVision software module with pattern matching makes wenglor’s Smart Camera even simpler and more intelligent. As of immediately, complex image processing applications can be implemented in just three simple steps without expert know-how – thanks to edge-based object detection. The new software license is available in the hardware variant with auto-focus or with C mount threaded connection.
In addition to already established modules including weQubeVision Standard, weQubeDecode and weQubeOCR, edge-based object detection is now also possible thanks to weQubeVision with pattern matching. In particular the implementation of complex applications, intuitive product configuration and the cost and space-saving design are of decisive significance for users of industrial image processing. weQubeVision with pattern matching unites all of these aspects in the weQube Smart Camera.
With the new software license, objects can be recognized regardless of their position and rotational orientation within the image (X, Y and 360° tracking). An edge-based algorithm ensures that several identical and different objects within the camera’s visual field can be simultaneously recognized. In just three simple steps, weQube is ready for use in the pattern matching mode. The program code makes use of Halcon’s image processing library to this end, and thus assures top quality, stability and high speed.
In addition to real 360° tracking, superimposed objects and objects in front of complex, non-homogenous backgrounds can also be accurately and reliably detected. Scaled objects and varying distances from the object are also mastered with flying colors by weQubeVision with pattern matching – in order to assure high levels of process quality. Pattern matching is an excellent basis for additional functions as well, for example dimensional accuracy checking.
And the new software license – as required by the customer – is included with the Smart Camera at no additional cost and can be freely combined with weQube hardware variants with auto-focus or with C mount threaded connection. It’s also available with either a color or a monochrome image chip, white or infrared light and optionally with Ethernet or PROFINET & EtherNet/IP™. Existing cameras can be updated. “If you combine all weQube software modules, namely weQubeVision with pattern matching, weQubeDecode and weQubeOCR, you get weQube – the Smart Camera”, explains wenglor product manager Stefan Winkler. “All intelligent image processing tasks for automated industry can be easily implemented with this combination – worldwide and in all industry sectors.”
